After steadily climbing for more than a month, local gasoline prices slid downward over the past week. The average retail price of gas in the Sacramento area fell 1.3 cents to $3.11 per gallon, according to the weekly report released Monday by SactoGasPrices.com, a GasBuddy.com website.
