The average retail gas price in Sacramento rose 8 cents over the past week to settle at $3.52 a gallon today, according to SactoGasPrices.com, a GasBuddy.com website.
And that could be just a warm-up for yet more price increases as continued unrest in the Middle East heightened energy analysts' concerns that world oil shipments could be disrupted.
Crude oil prices soared to their highest level in more than two years today in morning trading.
Benchmark crude for April delivery spiked $4.59, or 5 percent, to $94.30 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange - the highest price since Oct. 2, 2008.
