Small business owners meet bankers at workshop


Some were looking for information on how to expand their businesses; others just wanted to know how to help theirs survive. They came for answers, advice, even to vent.

But more than anything, small-business owners like Michael Kyalwazi wanted to know how to grab the attention of lenders and their business-fueling capital.

"Bankers don't understand us as much we understand them," said Kyalwazi, owner of three Sacramento-area Cafe LeMonde coffee shops. "They don't understand our trials and tribulations. How can we bridge that gap?"
